Spectator Information
Criterium racing returns to Portland with two days of fast and spectator-friendly racing and venues that are fun for the whole family.
Part bike race, part block party, the Portland Criterium presented by Steeplejack Brewing showcases our city with two car-free days of bicycles.
Saturday, August 16th – Park Blocks Criterium at the Portland North Park Blocks in the Pearl District
Sunday, August 17th – The Lloyd Criterium at the Lloyd Center and Holladay Park
Spectating is FREE!!!
We highly encourage folks to ride, walk or take Tri-Met to the races.
The Criterium style of bike racing is designed to be watched up close, with short laps (at 30+ mph) putting the racers directly in front of you every couple of minutes. Both venues for the Portland Criterium offer a scenic and kinetic setting for this brand of race spectating. Get a view of the group diving into each corner with a quick stroll around the course, or grab a front row spot at the finish line for the final sprint to glory. With plenty of bars and restaurants right in the neighborhood, you can make a weekend of it and watch this fast-paced style of racing unfold, lap after lap.
Make sure to check out the Steeplejack Brewing beer garden. Please also visit some of the amazing establishments around the courses, including Gallo Nero and World Foods on Saturday and the Lloyd Center Mall on Sunday.
On Sunday we will be joining forces with Lloyd Eco District to help host Party on, Portland! at Holladay Park from 10:00 to 2:00. POP! is a community party to connect the Lloyd neighborhood and community with activities for all ages, families, and neighbors.
The first race starts at Noon on Saturday with fields continuing throughout the afternoon, right up until dusk. Racing continues on Sunday at 9:00 AM, concluding at 3:30 that afternoon.
